Dr. Hoover earned his Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision from Mercer University and his MA in professional counseling from Richmont Graduate University, where he received specialized training in trauma counseling and the integration of counseling and spirituality. Dr. Hoover is a licensed professional counselor, board-certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. His professional interests include relational psychodynamic theory and practice, religious coping in response to trauma, clinical supervision, and the use of technology in counselor education. Dr. Hoover is a member of the American Counseling Association and serves on the Education and Knowledge Committee. In his free time, you’re likely to find Dr. Hoover out on a trail, usually near Kennesaw Mountain, running with his dog or hiking with his family.
